Axiom Pitch Weight

One thing all MVP Glitch throwers will notice is the weight of both discs. From the specifications listed on the PDGA’s Approved Discs website, the Axiom Pitch has a max weight of 176 Grams. The same for the Glitch. If you’re like us, you probably went directly to your bag and checked the weight of the Glitch and saw somewhere under 155 grams. The maximum weight comes from a general calculation involving the rim diameter but MVP never made a maximum weight Glitch. While it is possible the Axiom Pitch may come in at a heavier weight, looking at the specifications, and seeing that it shares a majority of its shape and size specs with the Glitch, it is highly unlikely.

Axiom Pitch Rim

In a video posted earlier this year by Simon Lizotte, he was lamenting that MVP only produced black rims. He enjoyed the flight of white rimmed discs and said they looked better when flying. Axiom, manufactured by MVP, has rims in pretty much every color you could think of. Similar to many discs in the Axiom line-up, the Pitch will be able to be produced in a number of “cores” and a number of rim options.

MVP Glitch vs. Axiom Pitch Rim

Axiom Pitch Rim Configuration and Flexibility

Similar to our Kastaplast Berg X comparison to the original Berg (linked here) the Pitch and Glitch have nearly identical specifications aside from rim configuration and flexibility. The Axiom Pitch had a touch more stiffness during the PDGA approval.

Rim configuration tests the sharpness of the disc rim. The higher the number, the more blunt of an edge. The lower the number, the sharper the rim edge. Take for example a high speed driver like the Discraft Predator. This disc has a 28.5 as a rim configuration where a Discraft Luna, a very blunt putter, has a 68.5 rating. Comparing the above specs of the Axiom Pitch and MVP Glitch, we see the Pitch to be a touch more blunt and rounded as a whole by 13.25 points. This could potentially mean a more understandable flight pattern for the Pitch.
